Technorati Chief as CNN Expert

My older, wiser brother Steve reports that Technorati's Dave Sifry will be a talking head on CNN's convention coverage. He says: "Just as CNN continues to provide the gavel–to-gavel coverage the networks used to do, its alliance with Technorati validates the voice and authority of the blogosphere. In effect, CNN becomes the first bridge between the broadcast age and the peer-to-peer age of the real-time network."

I wouldn't go that far, given that CNN is the network that told a staffer who had a blog to stop, but it's definitely a sign of progress.

This is a typical blogospherical reaction; google a link to a source that says something that contradicts the position of the post that has been made to make a spurious point, and then, post it.

The fact that CNN killed that blog and is now intermeshing with Technorati could also be taken as a 180 degreee about face in Atlanta, reinforcing the importance of the blogosphere that they foolishly failed to understand the importance of.

One thing is for certain; this sort of google powered bloggersphere contrarianism adds no insight to a debate, and is already tired. If you dont have anything to say of substance about a subject, its better not to post about it at all; a simple link and pulled quote will suffice.

We need more thinking bloggers, and less promiscuous meme replicators who spread ideas by mindlessly copying the posts of root bloggers. We need less contrarians who think that making a post with a googled link that contradicts the post subject is somehow showing two sides of a story.

We need people who blog and who are are AWAKE.

This comment appears without paragraphs in the preview. We need blogs that understand typography it seems!!!!!
